Elements and Performance Criteria
- Identify products, fittings and attachments to be used
- Plan process for fitting attachments to products
- OHS requirements, including ergonomic criteria and personal protection needs, are observed throughout the work
- Appropriate equipment is identified to minimise risks of damage to customers' premises or injuries to self
- Manufacturers' information on products used is located and used to plan work
- Attachment process is planned to conform to quality requirements, minimise time, economically use materials and maximise appearance of the finished work
- Materials, tools and equipment are assembled and checked for suitability for purpose
- Track/pole/rod width and projection is set up to correctly match work order requirements
- Complete fitting operations
- Clean work area and prepare products for the next process
- Work site and any equipment used is cleaned and stored appropriately
- Unserviceable equipment is tagged, faults are identified and appropriate personnel are informed
- Completed work is inspected and compared to workplace quality requirements
- Fittings which do not meet quality specifications are repaired on-site or returned to the workroom for repair
- Appropriate documentation is completed
